Kenya National Barista Championships (KNBC)
Competitions such as the Kenya National Barista championship which is an annual event, is something to look forward to.
The first competition was held in February 2005 and has continued to be held annually to create awareness of the barista as a profession, promote coffee drinking culture in Kenya, bring together players in the coffee industry and finally to have lots of fun.
Being like the coffee industry’s Olympic games, Kenya was the first country in Africa to send a representative in the 4th world Barista Championships which was held in Trieste Italy in June 2004. We are proud that this representative came from Dormans and was placed 17th out of 38 participants from all over the world. |
